The Durango School District Board of Education will meet for a Regular Session this Tuesday, April 22, at 5:30 p.m. at the Impact Career Innovation Center (Durango High School, 2390 Main Ave.).

New Mobile Health Learning Lab unveiled April 15
Check out the new wheels! It’s the Southwest Colorado Education Collaborative Regional Mobile Health Learning Lab. The lab was purchased through the Rural Coaction Grant to serve students from the district across Region 9. It’s designed to provide hands-on learning for students and basic medical services for rural areas in our region.

Board of Education Student Awards Ceremony is April 24
The Durango School District 9-R Board of Education will host its Fifth Annual District Student Awards Ceremony this Thursday, April 24, at 5 p.m. for elementary students and 7 p.m. for students in middle and high school. The event will be held in the Durango High School (DHS) Gymnasium (2390 Main Ave.).

April 21: No school for students
This Monday, April 21, is a Professional Development Day for faculty and staff, and there will be no school for students. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 22.

CoSN and AASA honored Dr. Karen Cheser of Durango School District with its 2025 EmpowerED Digital Superintendent of the Year Award for her impactful and visionary leadership.

Learn to create unforgettable family experiences at GFAC's Family Night on April 23
Join the Gifted Family Advisory Committee and guest presenter Andi McNair for a fun and informative Family Night focused on Family Passion Projects. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Impact Career Innovation Center (Durango High School, 2390 Main Ave.).

Measles: Regional outbreaks + what the law requires if there's a confirmed case at school
Due to the growing measles outbreaks in Texas and New Mexico and the high rate of tourism to our area, the Durango School District (DSD) Health Services Department is working to prepare and educate our students, families, and staff about measles and what to expect if there is a confirmed case in our schools.
